AED TRAING
According to the American Heart
Association, use of an AED has been proven to save lives in the event
of sudden cardiac arrest. Having an AED in your business will help you
in the event that one of your customers or employees is the victim of
such an unfortunate event.
Having an AED in your
business is not only a good idea, it is now California State Law. On
July 1, 2007 California State Assembly Bill 1507 took effect. This bill
requires that all health studios (defined by the State of California as
any facility permitting the use of its facilities and equipment to
individuals or groups for physical exercise, body building, reducing,
figure development, fitness training, or any other similar purpose, on
a membership basis AB1507 section 104113) to acquire an AED provide
maintenance and staff training for its proper use*.
The State of
California requires that your business must acquire and maintain an AED.
Your business must also maintain on staff, during business hours, a at
least one* staff member that is trained in CPR and AED use and can
implement an emergency medical response plan. Implementing an AED
program can be difficult and time consuming.
The staff at SimplyCPR
would like to help. SimplyCPR is staffed by medical professionals that
can offer your business comprehensive AED program implementation. If
you already have an AED in your business, SimplyCPR can help you with
maintaining your equipment and the training of your staff. How do you
get started in implementing your California State Law mandated AED
program?
Start by calling or
emailing SimplyCPR. We will come to your workplace and give you a free
consultation. You may choose to implement a full AED program or just
choose parts of our program. We will tailor our services to fit your
unique needs. We are here to help!

SMART CPR
Research shows that for some patients, especially those in
long-duration cardiac arrest, CPR prior to defibrillation may provide
more benefit. The SMART CPR algorithm of the HeartStart FR2+
Defibrillator can be configured to look at characteristics of a
shockable heart rhythm and advise the user to provide either an
immediate defibrillation shock or CPR first followed by a shock.
Quick Shock
Research also suggest that the opportunity for survival can be improved
if interruptions to CPR are minimized. The Quick Shock capability
of the HeartStart FR2+ Defibrillator readies the defibrillator
within seconds to deliver a shock, reducing the time between CPR
and defibrillation. No other brand can deliver a shock as quickly
after CPR.
The
American Heart Association Chain of Survival
The interlocking links in the Chain of Survival are interventions that will improve the outcomes for victims of cardiac and
respiratory emergencies and stroke.
Adult
Chain of Survival
Each link in the adult chain identifies an early
intervention: early access (911 or the emergency medical services (EMS)
access number), early CPR, early defibrillation, early advanced life
support (ALS).
Pediatric
Chain of Survival
In the pediatric chain of survival, each link identifies
an action that provides the best hope of survival following
emergencies: prevention of injuries and cardiac arrest, early CPR,
early access to EMS systems prepared for children's needs, and early
and effective pediatric advanced life support.
