FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS (FAQ)
How do I know which class is right
for me?
Question: Should I take a
healthcare provider CPR course? If you are any type of healthcare provider, for example (RN, EMT,
Paramedic, CNA, MA, PA, MD or Health Assistant) you will most likely
need this certification as part of your work related educational
requirements. The Healthcare provider provides instruction for 2 person
CPR, Automated External Defibrillation (AED) and bag valve mask
assisted ventilation. This certification is valid for 2 years after
attending the course. This course is the same cost as Heartsaver CPR.
Question: What if I am not working
in healthcare? Which course is right for me? Heartsaver CPR with AED is the right choice for anyone who needs CPR
training for a non-healthcare based job, or if you just want to learn
CPR for your own personal benefit, the Heartsaver course is the one for
you! Successful completion of this course does include a certification
card that is valid for 2 years after attending the course.
Question: Are there any courses that I can take at home? Yes, the American Heart Association has a course called friends and
family. This course may be purchased in a kit and can be taken in your
own home. This course does not result in any type of certification, it
is educational only.
Each of the above listed courses
are based on the American Heart Association curriculum and successful
completion of the course requirements will result in a certification
that is valid for 2 years after course completion.
